GROUSE HUNTING TRIPS SINCE 2008

The Best Grouse Hunting
in New Hampshire & Vermont

Northern New Hampshire and the North East Kingdom of Vermont offer some of the best
grouse and woodcock hunting in northern New England. This area is known for its excellent grouse and woodcock hunting, year after year. Woodcock can usually be hunted with success from October through early November. The alder runs and poplar stands of our area provide ideal cover for our resident woodcock, and "flights" of migrating woodcock from Canada make for some exciting shooting as well.

Perhaps the most popular and challenging of all the game birds is the ruffed grouse. Northern New Hampshire and Vermont’s mixture of hardwood forests and softwood thickets make an ideal home for grouse. Our northern forests are still actively managed for timber production, making many early growth timber areas so vital to the grouse's success.

Let Tom Caron of Frost Fire Guide Service take you to the prime grouse coverts, hunting the best of what northern New Hampshire and the North East Kingdom of Vermont have to offer. Hunt over Tom's steady and close working German Shorthaired Pointers, or take your own pup for a run through the grouse woods - the choice is yours. Check out our "Partridge Blog" to keep up to date on this grouse hunting season, as well as the hunting in years past.

We look forward to providing you with an
excellent autumn adventure in the northern New England grouse woods!

"October is the grouse hunter's month, when frosty nights fire the hardwoods and allow the bird scent to linger."
- Tom Huggler

Spring Turkey Hunts
in northern NH & VT
Is there anything more exciting than hearing the clarion call of a gobbler on a crisp spring morning?

Probably not, especially after a long north country winter. While northern New Hampshire and Vermont are not typically known for excellent wild turkey habitat, it appears as though
our flock of birds has benefitted from milder winters recently and an abundance of cover.

The population is healthy and is perhaps a bit more susceptible to proficient calling than in more pressured parts of the state -
