VT Grouse Hunting Update: 10/26
Things are still cooking up here on the hunting front. Monty took me out for a few hours in VT yesterday afternoon, and we managed to harass a dozen grouse and two woodcock as well.

NH Grouse Hunting Update: 10/23
What distinguishes this group from all others is that they are dedicated connoisseurs of the 28 gauge, and after hunting with them now for a few years, I can attest to this gun’s ability.

Monty Passed!
Test Day has come and gone, and Monty proved himself very well at the N.A.V.H.D.A. Natural Ability test. For not having seen a quail or chukar partridge before, he pointed them quite easily during the field exercise and completed his water retrieves without too much effort.

2011 Spring Report

Thanksgiving Grouse ??

NH Grouse Hunting Update: 10/23
The arrival of the first snow of the season throws another curveball at us grouse hunters, as if we didn’t have the odds stacked against us already. One opinion on this ocurence is that the grouse and woodcock will hold tighter after the first snow of the season, as the young birds especially have never experienced such a phenomenon before.

NH Grouse Hunting Update: 10/3
The start to the NH grouse season saw the remnants of a formidable tropical storm that belted us for two straight days, with October 1 falling on the second day of the torrent. Nevertheless, we are grouse hunters, and there were grouse to be pursued regardless of the weather conditions, so the answer to the question was simple: yes, we’re going out!
