NH Grouse Hunting Update: 10/18
I will preface this next post with the fact that I am a dedicated “pointing dog grouse hunter”, simply meaning that I am most comfortable with the pace and tendencies that pointing dogs display while in the woods. A point is still a mystery to me and probably always will be - the anticipation of which is almost as good as the resulting flush for me.

NH Grouse Hunting Update: 10/15
A pretty good week of bird hunting this week, especially after the temps became more “seasonal”. My Turn to Pursue the King
Believe it or not, in all of my years of grouse hunting, I have never pursued the gray ghost in the wilds of the great state of Maine. Now Maine has the reputation of being the grouse hunting capitol of New England, with good reason - there's good cover in almost every part of this state.

NH Grouse Hunting Update: 10/27
What a hunt this turned out to be! Tom from Nova Scotia wanted to take his twelve year old son Cam on his first grouse hunt. We were also accompanied by Tom's wife Leslie and springer spaniel Winnie and things couldn't have worked out better, at least on the first day.
